Mrs. Phillips achieved her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in 2018 and her Bachelor of Science – Nursing in 2009. She started her career with an Associate of Science – Nursing from Kettering College in Ohio.
She was raised in Plymouth, MI (between Detroit and Ann Arbor) and attended college in OH before relocating to Columbia, MO for most of her career and raising her three boys. These homes are why you’ll find her often sporting Detroit Lions blue, KC Chiefs red, U of M blue, or the black and gold of MIZZOU Tigers…especially for football season!
Mrs. Phillips and her family relocated to AZ in 2013 and have come to thoroughly LOVE the sunshine and warmth. Her boys are all grown – two are here in the valley and one is in AL. Mrs. Phillips and her husband are active in their church and enjoy music, exploring small towns (her husband is still a farm boy at heart), and trying out new recipes.
Mrs. Phillips has always been intrigued by the science and art of medicine. She was blessed throughout her career to have a very broad range of experiences while keeping her “home base” in adult intensive care (all specialties) for 29 years. She also worked ER, education, and managed the simulation center at the University of Missouri School of Medicine where she was able to train medical students and drive a simulation RV to rural communities for training. It was in this role where she fell in love with family practice and serving communities with limited resources.
In her spare time, she enjoys working with her hands – crochet, cross-stitch, embroidery, building/DYI projects, etc.
